Well, I've applied for a summer research grant at my college to do something along those lines. I really want to get it, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

Funny this was mentioned. History is a strong interest of mine from European (Fun times for AP European) American (Civil War) and World (Religion comes into play here). However, I didn't major in history because I don't think I would've had great job prospects.

I'm a history major. I guess people are right about the poor job prospects, but I needed to decide and most of my other interests are about as narrow. I probably will go on to get another degree in the future once I'm done getting this BA.

Maybe and maybe not, it depends on the person's view.

Hey, that's not all social sciences! There is also economics where things are critiqued using graphs and simplified mathematical models.

I'm probably going to minor in History. It's one of my favorite subjects.

I thought I'd revive this thread to say that I did get a summer research grant to do a project about the social history and construction of autism spectrum disorders. Needless to say, I'm very excited about this. If any History majors have any thoughts about the project, I'd be glad to hear them.
