College support for students with ASD

Hi- new user here. I am researching college options and supports for students with ASD. I would be interested in any insight on what any current or former college students found helpful during the college experience. Information welcome about academic accommodations, friends, roommates, time management.

What absolutely did NOT work?

Anyone attend a program that specifically supported ASD students? What did you think of that experience?

I'm really lucky that Brevard College has programs that will UNDOUBTEDLY assist persons with AS and just about everything else!

Call the Office for Students With Special Needs & Disabilities here at Brevard College. Can't recall the extension, but Google it, it's pretty darn prominent.

Mason to my knowledge may or may not have one but I think we should have at least along with another disabilities programs as well.

Portland State University does have a Department for Students with Disabilities.
Google "Portland State" and it will take you to the main site for PSU.

I am very sure PSU does have a DSD but the person running it should retire.
When I encountered their DSD back in May of 2007,
the dean is a crazy lady who does not understand Aspergers/Autism in its entirety.
Whenever someone tried to speak, she always interuppted them in the middle of a sentence.

If this turns you off, there is always Portland Community College, known as PCC.

Anyone have any experience with the College Living Experience at any of its locations?
How about Minnesota Life College? Should I check into these programs?

guess its cos of my perfectionism procrastination ... hmm....

so...

yea make sure ya on top of that... keep focused on your goals

im studying now with a few allowances
