Just want to know that How much of the aspie population take course for the AP Program or even special needed program? Which subjects do you take and why?

I take Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English...
The reason I take the AP Program is I would like to be a researcher......and would like to get more knowledge which is interesting...How about you guys...?

Are any of you take part in any talented projects? or are they any in your country? In thailand there are 3 projects for children who have talents on Sciences and Mathematics.... one of the best in my oppinion is Junior science talented project....I am a part of it my major is Biotechnology.. we did alot of projects, scientific method these stuffs we do in the top ranks universities in Thailand...

I'm in English Lit, European History, Macroeconomics, and US Government this year, and took English Language, American History, and Spanish Language last year. My mom talked me into it, and I liked it. I fell in with the "college-prep" crowd in those classes, and I think that helped me a lot. I also like the higher-level material (especially in history- I don't know if it's like that in your country, but here it's incredibly sugar-coated outside of AP classes) and I like getting free college credit.

I am in Calculus BC, Physics E&M, Statistics, English Lit, and US History this year and I am also taking the Chemistry test, the Psychology test and the Computer Science A test. I really like AP tests and classes, they are so much better than my honors classes because there are less BS assignments. Like my honors classes will have a poster presentation and maybe an extra credit thing where you turn in tissues and I hate both of those because I suck at making posters and I never remember to bring in tissues. In AP classes all we do is we come in and learn and I like that. I took English Lang, Calculus AB, Physics Mech, Biology, Comparative Government, US government, MicroEconomics, and MacroEconomics. I hope that my AP experience makes my college experience easier as I am majoring in Electrical Engineering.

I took only English (Lit) and Calc (AB), because...those were the only two my school offered. I needed a 5 in the English for higher placement, but either 4 or 5 for Calc. Guess which one I got the 5 on :?

The lack of viable and numerous AP courses is just one of many, many issues I have with my high school. I never realized back then how glad I'd be to leave.

This year, I took World History, which is the only AP course my high school lets sophomores take. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next year, I'm going to take Chemistry, US History, and Language/Literature, and I plan to take Latin, Literature, Biology, and Environmental Science at least in my senior year (and probably another history course as well). My choices are based off of serious interest in languages, history, and writing and a strong interest in a career in biology.

My school only offered Calculus, English Lit, and Biology. I too English and Biology, and did okay. (5 and 4, respectively).

I spent most of my last two years of high school trying to escape the lack of gifted programs by taking courses at a local college instead. I found it more rewarding than the AP program (and endlessly more supportive an atmosphere!), so if people with limited course choices in high school think that might be available in their areas, it might be worth looking into. ^_^

Sola, if you need help with chemistry next year, feel free to ask me. :) AP chem was a lot of fun this year.

Sophomore year I only had AP European History, which I liked a lot, but I'm really slow at reading/understanding history texts (including primary source documents and the textbook). History, actually, is my worst subject, yet my first AP course subject. I'm not really a history person, even though I like the subject.

Junior year, I'm taking AP Physics, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and AP Literature. I just got through general Chemistry class in sophomore year, and it was unbearably slow; the whole course covered material I'd independently taught myself in seventh grade. About halfway through the second semester, I requested the textbook my school uses for the AP Chemistry course so I could learn something that year. Unfortunately, I was so absorbed in learning the new material that I neglected my regular coursework and my grade dropped from A to B to C and I almost was unable to enroll in AP Chemistry (D'oh!). But I did a bunch of make-up assignments and got it up to a B. Same thing with Algebra II/Trigonometry.

So, sophomore year was basically a non-year as far as math and science courses (I want to be a physics or mathematics major; number theory is fascinating), but I enjoyed my other classes. This summer I get to take a course in probability and statistics at the local community college, which means that by my senior year, I will have exhausted every mathematics course available and take an elective (piano or drawing). So yeah, I'm getting ready for some intense fun. (It has always been a fantasy of mine to have more than one science class at once.)

I haven't. I lost the AP packet so I don't know what number the AP place has and I don't know the costs for calling. I figure I'll just wait for them to send me a copy of my scores. Hopefully I did well. :(

Well, I got my scores back. They were worse than I expected and wanted but they weren't too bad.

Psychology: 5
US History: 4
Calculus BC: 4
Physics C E&M: 4
Statistics: 4
Chemistry: 3
Computer Science A: 3
English Lit: Cancelled at my request

I really wanted 5's in Calculus and Physics and I wanted a 4 or higher in Chemistry. I think I will test out of my required chemistry in college though. Truly they aren't so bad considering that I was under a lot of stress near AP test time and for a few of those tests I never took a course. I never took a course for Chemistry and Psychology and I only took a semester of Computer Science. I must really have a knack for Psychology though... well.... not really, it is the easiest AP test out there I think.

You got yours back already? Mine haven't come in yet. I guess that's my cue to start watching the mail box!
