My cursive is good, but my printing is sh*t. I've printed the same way since I was 9.

In terms of teaching take index cards then write the questions on them. repeatedly use them for quizzing. On the basis of the shoe tying problem, you should go for repeated practicing

I gave up on developing my atrocious handwriting skills in the 4th grade and it still looks the same to this day. I developed my motor skills slowly through forced activities such as taekwondo and gaming.
