Started off as a Computer Science major.... hated it... went to Geography. Did Geography for a few years while working in the GIS field (computer cartography). Got interested in urban planning and am now almost done with a bachelor's in Public Administration. Needless to say, that was a BAD idea. It's too late to change now, but at least I was forced to learn about politics (although it doesn't make sense to me). The funny thing is that my interests are now back to where they started in computer science; I've been doing a lot of programming lately and have discovered that it's my true love.

So, Bachelor's of Public Administration, which will be done in Spring of 2007. After that I will be working toward an M.S. in Software Engineering.

You do GIS, too? That's what I do.

I'm a chemistry major with a biology minor. Not too exciting, but I'm hoping to possibly go onto grad school and persue epidemiology and studying infectious diseases after I graduate.

Good things about that: Only the bare minimum of English/history classes required (my school is liberal arts). There's lots of options after school.

Bad things: Lots of math involved. I have to take a few calculus classes, statistics and physics.

I am a psychology major. i wanted to major in art but i realized that the only art that i like is my own art. I can't stand impressionism or abstract. I do kind of like surrealism. i also wanted to major in music because i love singing and songwriting but then I realized there was no money in that field and there aren't many jobs.

So why am I a psych major? I took a career test years ago and I scored very high on all psychology portions. I figured I would do what I am best at.

Mechatronic engineering. I like robots.

And because I didnt want to be limited to just mechanical or electrical, I picked something that has just about everything covered.

Intended:

Double - pre-medicine (or something equivalent such as biochemistry or something to do with neuroscience, maybe) and French education. People are trying to convince me to go into pre-pharmacy, but... I've also considered a minor in statistics.

My undergrad major was Public and Urban Affairs, staying away from as much planning curriculum as possible. I ran a degree audit just before I graduated and minus a silly foreign language requirement I would have qualified for Poli Sci specializing in environmental politics as well.

My grad major is Political Management. Still searching out someone who will hire me in this field. I like the field itself, as much I'd probably care for any other field. (I have very varied interests.) The downside is that I'm facing a constant stream of writing tasks, which I can't possibly enjoy, for the rest of my career. I feel awful just thinking about it.

Creative writing. I'd also like to get one in psychology if I can have two, but for now, just creative writing. I just started college earlier this month....

Could you tell me a little about majoring in linguistics? Like, what specific courses do you take? Is it difficult? Where do you go to school?

College is a long way off for me, but linguistics is one of the few fields that I can see myself spending four years studying. But I'm more into dead or old languages, like basque and manx.
