It seems that the work at my school is not as challenging as it claims to be.

I usually am able to finish my classwork and homework in an hour or less. That's how easy it is. So, I asked my teachers if I could have more work. They said I could, but it was easy as well. For instance, I wrote essays in Spanish for my Spanish teacher. I attempted to make a program that found a polynomial's zeros for my algebra teacher. I balanced extra equations for my chemistry teacher. I feel I did not have a hard time doing them.

Am I asking too much from my teachers? If not, how can I get more work of a higher difficulty?

It's not unreasonable to ask for more work, but remember they have a whole class to teach, not just you. In another thread, you talk about how annoying it is that one girl keeps asking questions and disrupting the class; you're not much better if you do the same.

Many bookshops will sell textbooks for the year above you, or failing that you could get college textbooks. Once you get to a higher level, there tends not to be set 'work' for most subjects, it's more a case of making and learning off your own notes.

Either take harder classes OR go off and learn harder things on your own.
If you're taking algebra.. start learning trig.. if it's trig start learning calculus.. etc.
Sadly school is designed for the 'lowest common denominator' and you're not it :)
Don't let it limit you.

Simple, just go fishing it yourself. There must some place on internet you can go for chalenging problems. You can also look for textbooks of higher grades that yours. Go find a calculus textbook or something.

I started to read college textbooks, they're better than high school books because they have a more analytical approach and often cover a whole subject completely. Some books are available on sites like Amazon or you can call the publisher to get them.
You can also take exams to finish highschool early and go to college already, although I'm not sure how that works in the US (I'm from Europe).

http://www.khanacademy.org/ has a lot of educational videos on all levels but the very highest, and also tests one's knowledge of the subject matter. Mostly deals with math.
