I have a very high standard on friendship.
There are regular get-togethers in my department,
which I would be free to attend, but I'm not willing
to waste the time on them usually. Even if I did
though, I would still rank people I know now as just
buddies. There isn't anyone whom I'd confide in,
more than what I show in my public face (which
is pretty open).

IRL: about 20 (mostly classmates from high school--I graduated in 1998)

Online: too many to count

I have two really good friends, both which have AS (one of them is a member of this forum but I'm not saying which member). Then I have some fairly good friends who are friends of my friends. All my other friends are outside school.

Still, my brother, although he isn't autistic or has AS, has autistic tendecies, and he just sits by himself or with me and my friends at school.

By the way RedMage, if you didn't go to school how are you going to get a job? Unless you're already in college somehow.

I think I have about 4 friends. One I've known longer than my brother, one from school, and two boys who live near me.

At college, none. I haven't made any since starting college.

About 4 or 5, but I only see them about once or twice a month.

None. The ones that I have anything in common with (ie. moms with kids and jobs that are going to school) are either too busy or I just aren't able to carry conversations with them outside of speaking about our kids and school.

I have two AS friends in the year above me, and I also have two associates who are in a lot of my classes, who I regularly speak to.

The good thing about having a friend with Asperger's Syndrome is that you don't have to change your personality for their liking. I think this is good because it defies the stereotype with friends that are NT, because they expect the person to behave a bit like them.

I don't have any real friends, but I'm looking forward to change that.

I have two really good friends but does a boyfriend count? Anyway I can't imagine having 10 to 30 friends. To many for me to keep up with and to maintain. Let alone having thirty friends. I would probably need like notecards with their pictures and a brief bio to keep them all straight. I can't even remember people's names at work.

10-30 friends is considered normal? :?
Right now, not including internet friends, I have 6 friends. And I have some acquaintances as well.
