So at my college, (Well, every college), they're now changing the way they're teaching things to us an assessing us, by feeding us all the information, and then not being allowed to give any away during the "Assessment" perios in which we must get it done. Which I find hard because most of what they teach is is only them talking, and not showing hte words on the board or giving us pieces of paper, and we hardly have any indivdual work this term as well. So I've not been able to take it in properly and i feel like I haven't learned anything, and it's almost the end of this term and I'm worried I'll fail badly or I won't do good enough.

It's partly my fault for wanting to record the lessons instead of being bothered to type loads of notes, and the recordings on my phone turning out to be too bad quality, but that's because I get easily distracted, and if the computer won't distract me, my own thoughts will. Does anyone else have this problem, and how can I help it?

It may be too late, but can you ask your professors for a copy of their presentations - if you explain to them that you tried to record the lectures but the quality is bad they may be more symapthetic. I think most teachers will try to help students who proactively ask for help, rather than just whining about how hard it is.

The teachers are too busy for me to ask them, and I'm too shy to ask them, especially if they are busy. Also, I'm only at college 3 days a week and no one answers my emails.

are there classmates you can ask for notes? Or maybe disability services programs at the school that can help speak to your teachers about getting notes or test accommodation?
I understand that you're shy -I'm nervous about asking staff for things too even though it's a teacher's job to provide help to students.

I had a similar problem in lecture-focused courses; I can't absorb large amounts of auditory information, and felt like I hadn't learned anything at the end of class, at the end of the courses, and to this day.

I didn't undersand my auditory problems back then, so I just kept trying to focus harder. It didn't work well. In the end, I relied on my textbook and squeaked by with C's in those courses.

It may be too late for this course, but, if you have any sort of diagnosis, I would try to get accommodations from the student disability office, like a quality recorder or note-taker.

Personally, I have other symptoms that lead me to believe that I have Auditory Processing Disorder. If you have other auditory problems as well, you may consider being assessed for that, if you haven't done so already. They might be able to get you a specially-tuned hearing aid that helps you to take in auditory information.
