Its term 3, and finals are coming up again. My motivation is once again low. At the beginning of the school year, I was very motivated and did all my work, handed it in and got B's (mostly) and C+'s and such on my report card (which I consider good). Term 2, it went down just a little because I was sick but mostly stayed the same. This term however I feel unmotivated. I also feel very stupid, because I just have trouble understanding math (even doing math), and somewhat of English (we are doing poetry and punctuation, SHAKESPHERE, ugh...). I'm getting good marks in subjects like Socials, Science and Info Tech, (uncertain about English, the teacher said my essays were good so I suppose I'm doing ok maybe, and Foods I didn't do too well on a 40 mark quiz so I dunno, definetly a C- or C in math, and P.E is always a C) but I just feel dragged down, and even lazy.

This is in Grade 9 by the way.

Needless to say, can't wait until finals are done with and summer is here. But is anyone else feeling this way?

I've felt unmotivated in school for the past four years. I refused to go to school last November and now I am home schooled.

There was a time where I felt quite unmotivated in school. But, that was before I changed my focus from video games to music and schoolwork with a little help from my supporting counselors, teachers, and parents. However, I'm still a procrastinator every so often. In high school I pulled a cumulative 3.6 GPA. Some of the only classes I really had a hard time with were some of the advanced literature classes and geometry. Of course, I also had trouble choosing a partner to work with instead of having one assigned to me.

I am definately ready for school to be done! My uni is on the quarter system...so I still have a whole month left. Makes it hard to find summer jobs, since all the large universities get out before mine.

I was always extremely motivated for 2 or 3 weeks, and then it died off, and I just didn't have the energy to care.

Don't be like me... find that extra motivation and pull through it!! ! i wish i would have!! ! I never wanted to do the stuff that I wasn't interested in...but it doesn't work that way. The worst thing is that I know I could have but I just slacked off and ruined my life, for the time being at least.

I rarely felt motivated in high school, and my attendance was quite low as a consequence. Now I'm at university though I enjoy the work much more, so find it easier to motivate myself.

I've almost always been like this, but I went anyway.

I'm feeling unmotivated as well. I have been all year, with the exception of a few days. My attendance is at an all time low - close enough that I'm pushing the 10/20 rule - and I think I might skip this Friday again. I also can't wait for the end of the school year - only 15 days to go, if I remember correctly.
So no, you're not alone. Not by any strech.

I definitely am, considering

A) I graduate in like 2 weeks
and
B) I only ever do stuff in 2 of my 6 classes. The rest of the time I just take some easy 10-minute quiz and then sit there for the rest of the period listening to music and reading. Going to school for me is like being locked in a library full of loud dumbasses.

I'm extremely unmotivated. I just don't care anymore, even though I have less than two years left.

High school is an evil sadistic waste of time. College/university is better, it's easier to motivate yourself there. I have history every day. :D

I have a similar problem, that I lose interest over the year. Although I think it mainly down to just getting tired of the workload. A quick holiday, and I'm good to go again!

Yes, I definately get that a lot... I'm like that atm. Got tough work coming up, wrapping up the year meaning more pressure to get the work in... it sure is tough.

I feel that way quite a bit at times... Sometimes I have semesters where I am able to force myself to really focus, followed by ones I just can't feel motivated to do anything no matter how hard I try.
