Originally majored in Biomedical Sciences but I don't have the attention span/capacity for it - fortunately my classes for that major all can fall into a biomed minor, and while I was taking psych courses on the side, ended up switching over to Psychological Sciences which I'm enjoying much more.

Did university after high school, but I've just gone back to school for the first time in 12 years to study Photography because, quite frankly, I'm tired of working for the man lol, and I want to do something creative (as I was meant to do).

I'm studying Cultural Anthropology, General Psychology, and Public Speaking. The Public Speaking class is really fun and challenging for me. The other two were to my own benefit, so I can adjust myself to the NT level and do better socially/ :P

I studied history and graduated with a bachelors and masters. No matter what you study, don't let people tell you that you can't do it! In the words of my physician: "keep on truckin'!"

I just started my Occupational Therapy degree. I chose OT because I'm quite good at 'thinking outside the box' and coming up with creative solutions to problems, plus I've struggled a lot throughout my life and I want to use my experiences and skills to help other people with their problems.

i've got one more year left to get my bachelor of fine arts degree in sculpture.
i like it for a lot of reasons, like learning through making, learning how to interact with other artists and their work, no tests/essays/standard academic assignments, professors understand differences in cognition and don't expect the same thing from different people, etc.
its also a really small department and everyone is a total wacko so i fit in lol

What medium do you prefer sculpting in?

i use a lot of steel and other metals in my practice, i love to fabricate, weld, and mechanize!
i also have been using crayons as a sculptural material lately, and the way i have been constructing the pieces is very similar to welding and foundry work.

I study social insect behavior and ecology. Hope to defend and get my PhD this spring.

Anyone else think it's interesting how many of us study cognition and sociality?

first of all, awesome area of study. i read a book about social insects a couple years ago that compelled me to do more research on the subject. i've only scratched the surface but it's still fascinating. i'd be interested to hear more about what you're considering for your PhD and how you like to go about your research.

so yeah anyway, when i was reading through all the responses i was surprised at first to see how many people are interested in cognitive and social themes, but then i realized how much sense it makes.

My final semster of being a "student"... I'll quit. Not gonna cry about why in this thread, maybe later.
Well, I'm "studying" (barely, actually not at all anymore) Information Science (--> IT) which means I've "learnt" very basic programming in C, C++, HTML, JS, some electrical engineering basics, some Internet stuff like TCP/IP, security, ARP, maths stuff I learnt in school before like differentiation and matrices, sine, cosine, complex numbers, Taylor's theorem, etc., informatics basics like checksum, hex system, databases, and more...

I'm studying Psychology, because what I like about it is studying the behaviors of people. Despite that, I contemplated changing my major to English, because my real passion is writing.
