Is history boring to you?

Do any of you find history class in school to be boring? It's my favorite subject in my high school, and it's a hella interesting and exciting to me!

I find history pretty interesting. Learning about different cultures and customs is pretty fun! Though my school kind of ruined it by teaching us US history from 8th grade and upwards. Even when it was a class that wasn't about US history it somehow made it's way back to it!

I love history! It's such a huge topic, I feel like there's something for everyone to find interest in. Of course, I'm a giant history nerd, and I'm applying to PhD programs in history, so I'm obviously biased.

History isn't exactly boring, but it's taught very poorly. Events are taught in a disconnected, disjointed, fragmented manner. My mother believes the dates of events are still very important, but I'm more concerned about just understanding how & why things happened the way they did: what led up to the events, the reasons they played out as they did, how they led to the next event, & so forth. I really wish it had been taught better in school.

My History teacher knows a lot of people don't care for history. I have an A in there while a lot of people have much lower grades simply because everyone's focused on trying to pass Math and English and thinks History is a lower importance class.

I liked history most of the time, but sometimes there were some less interesting parts.

I found it alittle boring but I have ADD & dyslexia & had a hard time getting the details straight.

History is one of my favorite and strongest subjects! I especially enjoy the history of technology, specifically the automobile and other forms of transportation, as well as the impact that has had on history itself.

I can't help but feel that, in the words of henry ford, "history is bunk."

It depends what parts of of history we're talking about. When I was in junior high social studies became my worst subject next to math. It was not only incredibly boring but trying to remember all the dates and people of those incredibly boring events was almost impossible for me. And it was mainly about POLITICS. And anyone who has read my posts probably knows how I feel about that. I think Canadian history for the most part is very dull. A few exceptions were the Halifax explosion, the Vikings sailing to what is now Newfoundland, and Canadians fighting Americans and winning in the war of 1812. Only they weren't really Canadian they were more like our English ancestors, but whatever.

They they taught us very little if anything about those events. Thanks to those Heritage Minutes I watched in the 90's I learned about our country's history than I ever did in school. In fact I have to stop talking about it because it's giving me pain and anxiety all over my body.

I have a history degree so my answer is definitely no!

not boring but certainly not a happy thing, either.

I'm taking college world history right now and I love it, especially ancient world history.
