Somewhat old thread but hopefully OP comes back

it's pretty crazy how similar our situations were. You're even from the same state just going by the schools you listed.

I too did horribly my first two years in high school.(try 0.00 for a few quarters) before I got accommodations and got my stuff in gear. I graduated on time and did pretty well my last two years. I got a 26 on my ACT and applied to a bunch of UW schools and hear comes the bad part. My cumulative GPA was pretty terrible obviously so I didn't get into any of them well besides UW-Superior(with a catch that I won't go into) so I ended up going to MATC with the plan of transferring later and that's where I am now. My attitude wasn't the best about it either but gotta get over that fast and go at it full steam. I, myself, a bit disappointed with how my first year went since I had to drop a few classes and will have to work extra hard my second year so I can transfer but better there then at a big expensive university.

I don't have much advice besides just saying I been there but you just gotta try your hardest you last year or two in high school and not be down going to a technical college or whatever since you can still go to a 4 year school later and you might even save some money.
