"Show your work"

My math professors used to give full credit for a right answer (no matter what work was shown) and would give partial credit if you showed enough work that they could tell that you were thinking abot the problem correctly. Technical job interviews tend to be the same way - it's more important to know how you think about problems rather than what answer you get.

I had to show my work in Maths and in Maths exams. Everytime the situation was a fail. What the hell did those idiots expect from me?
