Why do you need to keep an eye on everyone else? Isn't that normally the teacher's job?

I nearly fell off my chair laughing then. In my experience, they don't do a very good job of keeping an eye on everyone else.

I was reading some of my school records, and apparently I used to lay on the ground between everyone and stim to my heart's content.....incredibly noticeable, obvious and entire body utilizing stims. That's when the school board sent in a psychologist....

Hence the reason I always try to sit at the front of the classroom and close to the door. Generally the teacher can at least keep order in the front rows.

I must be next to the wall, or nearest the door. Only nearest the door if the lesson is before lunch (I get very hungry before lunch and like to be first in the line). But otherwise, I sit nearest the wall as I feel safe, protected even.

My problem is not people sitting in "my" seat. Or where I sit within a room.

The trouble I have is WHO I'm seated beside. To this day it's still a problem. It wasn't just school, it could be any setting.

Example: There is one girl at church who I'm admittedly scared of (because I've had many negative reactions from her, many scowls and basically she's treated me with a fair degree of disgust). Supposing I was sat beside her, or vice versa, I'd be freaked out.

well also because of my nickname and obcession, i also liked sitting near exit so in free time i can look at the door's hinges and closer without anyone noticing

since i was only one who knew how to fix them. all i had to do in case it broke while i was sitting next to exit i can only do is get up and reach up without being much of a disturbance to rest of class.

I am not too bothered about where I sit unless the person is very disruptive or disrespectful to me. I do get annoyed a bit (but not enough to react out loud) about the fact that when we have a substitute teacher, the class moves around slightly. Luckily, when that happens I can sit on my own and do my work, which I like. :)

I usually sit at the front if i can almost every single day and pretty much in the same seat, but there is the occasional person who sits in my spot and it throws me off balance, but i don't make a big fuss about it because i know by the end of the class that I would be able to get my seat back the next class period. But when i don't get my spot, i can't concentrate very well. If i'm in a big pit class or something, i try to take up one other desk on my left becuase i'm lefthanded. I like to use the desk to my left for writing and taking notes and the desk that i sit at for having my textbook out and anything else i need. I don't really worry about space in a classroom because i know there are lots of people and when the class is done right, there should be no empty desks. On an ironic note, usually everywhere else i worry about having room to move around and not have people close to me, but in a classroom, it's different.

I totally get that. I had so much trouble in school cuz of that, and it was so hypocritical. You'd get in trouble for not being in your seat, but when one of the NT kids with an excuse sat in your seat. It was ok, cuz they were teacher's favorite.

I tend to allways sit in the same seat... and i did at school too, it makes me kind of uncomfortable when i sit somewhere else, i have my space and i get used to it, i know where my bag goes and i know where i have to walk, etc. What type of chair i have and stuff. If someone elses sits in my seat it does upset me. I get annoyed and a little stressed...then i have to make sure i get my seat back the next day.
I usely make a point of being early so i can get my seat and also because i like to be early, it gives me time to relax and get myself organised in peace and quiet before anyone else comes in and makes a noise.

Same here. I hardly like sitting to a complete idiot who has dothing better to do with their life than make other people unhappy or be immature.

I prefer to be seated on my own, i.e. at least one seat away from the next person, so that
a) I can place my bag on the seat next to me and spread my books around.
b) I don't feel intimated and have my personal space invaded.
c) If I don't work with a partner when asked, I am not so noticeable.
