The one time that really got me was my first semester in grad school, in a class there was like 700 total points and I ended up one half of one point short of an A grade. An 89.5 would have gotten it done and I was like 89.47.

That was rough on me until I took a ridiculously hard requirement and got a B in that as well, it would have f****d with me if that one class was my only B but whatever now I have 2 of them and so that narrow miss isn't screwing up a "perfect GPA" anymore.

Perhaps for that kind of reason, my university refuses to ever tell us our exact mark and the required marks for each grade after the exam. We just get the grade letter, so there's no way to tell if we narrowly missed the next band or narrowly got into the current one.

In middle school, at least in math, I used to CRY LIKE A BABY whenever I got anything lower than 90% on a test or even a homework assignment. I also remember crying when I missed ONE word on a spelling test in 1st grade (the word was "lupines"; I spelled it "loopons"). Didn't even matter that it only meant I had to take the "final" spelling test of the week, which I got every word right on so it didn't hurt my grade AT ALL.

I'm sure at one point or another I felt bad about a grade but after a while I stopped caring. To be honest I think a part of me expected a bad/failing grade in most of my classes. I've never been successful in school.

I usually go psycho if I get anything below a B on my report card. Right now I am in Community College and am looking into getting As and Bs on my gen ed classes, and hopefully all As in my major requirements. So far I only have one C on my card and it will hopefully the only C, in transferrable credits that is.
