I don't know about other students, but I personally adore math. Especially geometry.

I just wouldn't do a schedule like that. I would laugh, not go to school, and start my own business. I understand it is different in an Eastern society. I come from the United States where we have a different approach to matters.
But, Eastern or Western, all those things you are learning; if you don't use them then you will forget them. All those years of studying will go to waste. It is human nature to forget things we don't really use. It is better to understand something and apply something than memorize it. I suggest you not stress out so much and focus and discipline your creativity.
What do you want to become? An engineer, a doctor, a writer, or what? Have you even had the time to think about it and ask yourself that? Did you know you can do great things for society by being a scientist that does new things than memorizes old things.
I have had classmates from Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, and China who were the best in their class paired up with me to do assignments.
Yes, they were very knowledgeable but they were unable to apply their knowledge in simple ways to solve simple problems. Sorry, but if I wanted to know what the coefficient of friction for grass was I'd look it up in a book. That's why books were invented. No memorization needed.

I guess I'm a bit different. You're right. Most of my friends don't know what the hell they are doing, and they basically know nothing about stuff unrelated to schoolwork. But heck, I know what I'm doing, I want to be an actress after uni, then dedicate myself to Asperger's research and computational neurobiology. Most of them don't even know what they are good at, their talents, they just do whatever their parents want then end up with a job they'll hate. So sad. I feel very lucky to be able to excel in this system AND keep my own mind, but still, this goddamn schedule will prevent anything productive from happening, at least for the next five months or so. I still sneak time to write my own novels, surf wp, sing, act and have fun though...using whatever spare time I have.

I thought I had it tough at school. When I was in yr 9, so 14 years old, my school day started at 8am after a 90 minute bus trip or 60 minute bike ride. ( I had to bus 4 days a week because i had euphonium, trombone or my viola to transport). I had choir 3 days a week during lunch, string quartet 2 days a week during lunch. Then school finished at 3pm. Alas I had either chamber orchestra, big band, concert band, orchestra, or dixieland jazz after school until 6pm. 2 nights a week I had Brass band and marching band from 6pm to 9pm. Then Friday nights from 6pm to 10pm was Army cadets where i was a corperal, i would get driven by my mother. Saturday mornings I had Youth orchestra and Sundays I had church all day.
I used to study on the bus. It seems crazy now but It was what we all did as Specialist music students.

I can't speak of Taiwan, but I heard South Korea has a system of schools that supplement the private schools, and they are not as effective. The instructors are probably okay, but students openly sleep through those classes. The thinking goes that all of that added stress is inefficient, and the South Korean government is pushing for students to have more leisure time.
