My schools dress code was more strict. we couldn't wear hair clips...Reason: It could be used as a weapon. Most everything else you list is the same. The dress code never affected how I personally dressed, even when not in school.

In Australia.

Most schools public or private have uniforms varying in strictness (public tend to be less strict). I went to varying schools both public and private and they were all pretty strict school skirt, school shirt tucked in, tie, jumper and blazer as well as school shoes and stockings. Now I am at work we have a dress code but it is pretty relaxed the only rules are no offensive slogans on T shirts/shirts and no jeans or denim.

Sikh boys can wear turbans.

not many Jewish people go to my school because they go to there own one, maybe, my school are allowed to wear the yarmulkas (skull caps) if male, headbands for the girls. I think. My dr and optician are allowed the yarmulkas with the suit with beard.

You're going to love college then. There's no dress code here except that you're supposed to wear clothes because complete nudity is illegal, although I'd bet I could get away with going to class in my boxers. I have a shirt that has the F word in the sentence written in big letters on the back of it and no one ever complains, I couldn't do that in high school though.

I go to a tiny school now (about 2-5 kids per lesson) and you're allowed to wear anything you want. Which is good, because the last school I went to you had to wear yellow shirts. Certain-shall we say,"rival" schools-would call us yellow bellies. :x

Our uniform is:

*Green V neck jumper with school logo (must be worn if you are wearing a coat/jacket on top)
OR Black blazer with school badge (about 3 people out of 2000 wear this)

*White shirt. Must be tucked in and top button must be done up. You are usually in trouble if your top button is not fastened, although I never am because mine is fastened all the time. Much easier than fastening it when the teacher tells you to, then unfastening it 2 minutes later like alot of people do.

*school tie (done up properly)

*Normal black trousers or skirt.

*Black shoes

*No boots or strange looking belts.

*and then theres other rules for things like jewelry.

People in the Sixth form can wear whatever they like as long as it is smart (i.e. doesn't look silly)

Quite simple. Although some schools in the area are jsut a polo shirt/jumper with school logo and trousers.

Mines a bit loser then the initial poster's school.

Not by a whole lot in some areas, It mostly has to do with enforcement then anything, occasionally they'll go crazy and crack down on it, but its not too often.
