Only parents say this. Hormones rule. You can't fight it.

If you pursue the right girl, your college/university experience will be more pleasant. :D

I disagree...a major part of college [and high school, too!] is developing healthy relationships, both romantic and non-romantic, with other people.

As long as you keep everything in balance, you have nothing to worry about.

The typical "hot" party girls tend to be nursing majors around here, but the nice ones are the education majors. Most of the English majors I work with tend to be pretentious, and while it feels like I'm turning against my own people, it tends to be true more often than not.

Biology majors tend to be pretty nice, but they're often nursing students taking bio courses.

Nursing majors are mostly regarded as jokes around here. Actually, they should probably be called "Tequila majors". All they do is drink and drink and drink and ... you get it.

They are generally considered the "prettiest" girls, at least in a superficial, conventional sense....but I just think they're idiots.

Pure and healthcare science (at Edouard-Montpetit at least) are regarded as the "prettiest" girls in an unconventional sense - especially healthcare girls - because they aren't superficial.

Though, in the conventional sense of the word, Arts and Letters girls seem to be prettier than everyone else, their personalities are not quite the ideal ones...

There are several jealous women in this thread :-p It at least seems that way. I haven't noticed a correlation between intelligence and attractiveness in women.

Edit: grammar

As for me, in Edouard-Monteptit College (Longueuil, Quebec, Canada), the prettiest girls are in nature science (both pure and healthcare) :D

Education majors, in my experience.

Almost all of the girls we had to send to the hospital due to alcohol abuse were Education majors, and they were quite pretty when sober.

A person may not look the most asthetically pleasing on the outside, but when you get to know their minds, they can somehow look more beautiful than you ever expected.

I was just making a point about the few women making the "attractive women are here, but..." statements. It's similar to me saying that wealthy guys are jerks: that's not necessarily true at all.

Back to the subject of visual attractiveness. Men generally put it as the highest factor of attraction when seeking a mate.* This is innate, and the laws of attraction are hard to argue against. Most women put a lot of emphasis on income/status (at least to a point), and on height. A female friend was telling me the other day why she likes guys a fair bit taller than her. I'm a tall guy, and it bothered me a little that she'd be less attracted to me if I were shorter, but I know it's hard to change what someone's attracted to, if not impossible with certain issues. Digging into superficiality further, if one's overweight, chances are it's due to lack of discipline and caring, which of course aren't desirable qualities.

That being said, I wouldn't and haven't gotten into an LTR with someone just because they were attractive. Intelligence, good emotional health and certain other traits are important to me.

true.. Men are more visually stimulated, and women are more audio stimulated, the sound of rain falling, can put us in a romantic mood. Oh and lets not forget pheramones.. they play a part as well.. lol.. If your ever wondering why you find someone attractive, when it seems you would never be attracted to this person.. could be the pheramones... (sorry I'm a bad speller)

While there are certain stastical trends between genders, this has been over-emphasized, and often mis-represented in the popular press. For most psychological traits, the variation between random individuals is way more than the variation between genders. That is, we are far more different from each other, than women are different from men.

If you measure visual stimulation in guys and average it, and compare it to the average for girls, yes, guys are a bit more visually stimulated. But if you compare individuals, the measurements vary so much from person to person, that the between-gender variance is insignificant by comparison. Yes, there are differences, but they are not nearly so dramatic or consistant as we are often led to believe.

So being a guy doesn't necessarily mean you are primarily visual. It just means you're a more LIKELY to be visual. Just like some girls are taller than some guys, although guys are taller on average.

My NT friend (who fancies himself a bit of a ladies man :) )over here says that the landromat is a good place.

After all, they don't have anything else to do for an hour or so, right?

p.s. this is a joke...

Eh, I don't know about that. Would be nice if you cite a study.
