I have had difficulty with too many technical courses, say three or more, esp if it's 'new' technical, that is, something I'm not familiar with. I also have had some difficulty with project classes. And I think the solution to both is to be proactive. For projects, whether it's a paper or something else, maybe ask the professor, 'I have sometimes struggled with projects. If I finish early, may I ask you to take a look at it to make sure I'm on the right track.' I've never done this, but I'd love to the next time! And notice by the ' . . if I finish early,' that you're not putting additional stress on yourself.

With the classes themselves, I am a big advocate of pre-studying, esp with them not starting till January. And not out of some sense of dry obligation, more like buying an old textbook really cheaply or checking out some library books and skimming through them as casual as can be.
