I don't like the word 'Autism' or 'Autistic' because ignorant people associate it with mental retardation.

It really pisses me off. Why? ...Well, I guess I just hate spiteful words, and people who use those words despite knowing what they mean. My brother, I believe, likes to use the word "gay" in front of me specifically (he knows I don't mind guys ), but his repertoire also consists of "That's Jewish", "That's ret*d", and "What a gyp" (slang for Roma, if you didn't know - I didn't for a long time). I also can't stand for Jack Thompson's euphemisms for gamers, as petty and phony as the words are. I guess I feel like I could just as easily be targeted for needless spite as the next bunch of people.

I've seen some people here get into a habit of referring to NTs in a similar way, and I'm trying not to fall into that habit.

I used to work with a homosexual guy who, on his happier days, would come dancing up to his booth, proclaiming how gay he felt.

it comes from south park (i think) who are untouchable by your accusations of lameness. i know a few aspies apart from myself around my area who think its the hight of nonsesnseical comedy sure its a bit lame but its one of those things thats just so stupid its funny but i understand if it gets anoying.

Gay is a figure of speech. It can mean boring, dumb, stupid. Gay also means happy. Gay has three meaning: homosexual guy, happy, and its a figure of speach used for lot of things, same as ret*d.

I hate it when some dumbass says,'That's gay!' It really pisses me off, and it makes me want to hit that person.

I agree. I really wanna yank some people's hair sometimes when they say that's "gay". I feel that sometimes saying something is gay is like randomly dubbing things "n****r". You shouldn't due it, because of manners.

I have been called gay many times, even though I'm not gay, because when people ask me 'have you ever had a girlfriend?', I say 'no, never', then they will immediatly reply 'ha you must be gay then!'. I t leaves me so embarresed. It does nothing but make people feel bad.

That just reminds me, because my first gf avoided me because she thought that I was gay. We met at a Halloween party that I was throwing, and I was dressed as a pharie lord. I was flaming, and flirting with everyone (I had had a LOT to drink). She was intrigued, and asked a mutual friend about me, and the friend said that I was very weird - she took this, along with how I was acting, to mean that I was homosexual. She ended up going home with someone else that night. STBM. But we ended up together in a few months.
