Selo is putting up an entertaining defense; but is it just me or does the whole thing seem trollish?

I don't see what's "trollish" about it.

Remember that without talking, the human race would die out. We would have no way to communicate our thoughts, emotions, needs, and opinions. It would be all chaos and suffering.

Oh, that is awesome. If you're a teenager, cursing = good. It's like a rite of passage into our crazy culture that's better than everyone else's.

Also, note that people who think cursing is bad are wrong. See, we teenagers know the truth. "Cursing" means nothing - they're just words, people. They're only taboo because some Dutch professor 350 years ago decided they should be.

The last part is just ridiculous, seeing as how I am a teenager. It seems as if Sero is generalizing in the opposite direction just to give an opposing argument, which is what led me to my comment about the "trollishness".

And I don't mean that this person "Selo" is a troll, which is why I described the argument as being "trollish"; as in having characteristics of a troll comment put into the argument.

I'm not trying to be a troll... I apologize if that's how it may seem. I'm just trying to state my opinions, which are often different from what others think, even on a diverse internet forum.

What? I didn't once say that in my post you quoted. I was just listing the reasons why people communicate at all, especially teenagers, whose lives are roller coasters. They need to find some way to cope with all in their lives, good or bad, and so for centuries that method has been to share experiences and ask questions with their peers. I didn't say a thing about "nyah-nyah it's all your fault if people hate you". Because that's not what I think at all.

BTW, I would like to apologize if I came off as critical or severe. Sometimes I can seem like kind of an ass in text, but I'm really not. :)

No, it's okay. We're all entitled to an opinion here, and you weren't being an ass at all.

I don't know... what I said about the cursing is the view of every teenager I know, and I know a lot. Again, you're allowed to have a different opinion. I was kind of observing, which I always do when it comes to people in general. Sorry if I offended you or anything. And again, I'm not trying to troll (I hate trolls), I'm just stating my opinions that just happen to be different from others'.

I know this was posted in the school and college thread, but I can't help but comment. My daughter, aged nine with AS, decided several years ago that she absolutely hated teens. SHe cannot stand the way they think, the way they act, they way they look. She is annoyed by the way they prioritize their friends, boyfriends/girlfriends over family/school. She cannot even begin to imagine why one would choose to smoke, drink, do drugs, bully etc. TO this day, she swears she will "never be a teenager". haha

Well, unfortunately, I have news for her...*sigh*

But even more fortunate for us, she is going to be the polar opposite of everything we fear our teenaged children will become!

You don't have to be sorry which is why I was asking if it was just me? And it might be, I just thought that some of your observations were off the wall. I'm very observant as well :) and I'm not on the autistic spectrum which gives me a very different perspective from you if you are on the spectrum; so when I read some of your comments I was like "wtf?". Some of the observations seemed accurate, other just seemed ridiculous. (which led to me ask if anyone else noticed a "trollishness").

Am I the only one (ironically a teen myself) who cannot STAND being around teenagers. I am at college and they are everywhere. It is like a plague! I wish that I could be with adults who are really mature and WANT to do the work but I am stuck with a bunch of annoying complaining things which like making lots of noise (I hate noise) and doing everything they can to avoid working. The whole idea of going to college is WORKING!! ! I think it is about time that social life and academics is seperated...

An angry frustrated hypocrit...

Well I think the same to be honest.

I had this in a extreme degree on my first class in high school, but even now on college there alot of "teenagers" who at alot of times can't be arsed to keep there mouth shut about stuff that isn't going over study, while were supposed to study.

Since I can't filter the sound well enough that blocks me from concentration, forcing me to quit study for the while there slacking also.

Them stupid kiddo's just cant seem to understand that is better to work at college and having all your time free at home instead of slacking at college, socializing etc, and then not being able to go out to the club because they have to study at home.

I agree with you, study and social life needs to be seperated. It even would be an advantage for them to, not only for us Aspies. You go to college to study for your own future / interests, if you want to socialize, you can go to a club, which is way better anyway.

Unfortunately for us them "normal" people can combine work / social life quite good somehow. And they abuse it! RAWR!

Sorry if this is not the case, but you seemed to imply that people who are not successful in socialising are to be looked down to - the rest follows from the way such people behave in practice.

I hate it when people have a good conversation, I like to join, but when I join,
like if they talking about their brothers

Person 1 (NT): How is your brother?

Person 2 (NT): He started play the electric guitar.

Person 1 (NT): My brother has a electric guitar, as well

Person 3 (AS): So does mine

(1 and 2 looking uninterested, like if there was cricket sound effects)

Most NT looking there ignoring me, but they cannot think of an answer, but it's annoying

Also people in my art group are annoying because they think they can't do the work, I know its hard in my group, but most NT's get over the top.

I feel like I don't trust anyone anymore.

Other thing are annoying when NT sound depressed, when I have a conversation.

I also hate it when boys fight and girls argue, even if there friends.

I often hate teenagers. One of my good friends feels the same way. And we both are teenagers.

I can't wait until I become an adult and I don't have to deal with classes of dumb, immature teens.

IMO my generation hasn't been parented that well in general, hense the a-hole teens. Kids in well-off families are spoiled rotten into their 20s, while in less well off families the parents are working multiple jobs and so don't have time to do much actual parenting.

I don't want to take sides yet.

But in terms of behavior what exactly is the difference between and AS teen and a NT teen.

Sorry if I'm late on this.

IT DEPENDS ON THE INDIVIDUAL.

Okay? It depends on the individual. Then why are we all ranting about how much we rant about NT's? That's why I asked the question. I'm an Asperger's. I'm just researching how I'm so different from the normal kids.
