people are incredibly noisy and overstimulating on buses. Don't like it.

The only time I ever had to take a school bus was in high school. I was a walker in elementary and junior high, but my community didn't have a high school. We had to travel about 20 minutes away, and I had no choice but to take the bus. I hated it, btw. Sometimes it wasn't so bad, but other times was awful. I liked it in the morning more than the afternoon because I was one of the first stops in the morning (so better seat selection). The bus filled up so quickly in the afternoon before I got to it.

I remember riding the bus as a kid and met some nice students. I rode on wheelchair buses and was so much fun. The bus driver would sometimes give us doughnuts on Fridays if we were good.

On another bus the driver bought me King Sized Hershy Chocolate Bars with almonds.

Fun times(:

I rode the short busses rarely and big busses sometimes but did not really care much for them either way.

I have another idea with the short busses is to have them be raced on top gear. Of course with Richard Hammond and touring car drivers.

Yes; I take buses to go to school; but I take them only if there is very few people on it, or else I can't bear being on buses.

Oh god. I'll go on forever talking about this. I've been on school buses since I was 4. Started in preschool in the Northshore School District, Bothell, WA. I still remember all of the buses from that time - and my great drivers. Since I was in the autism program , and the assigned school was several miles from my home, special ed buses picked me up for many years before I moved to Bellevue and had to ride a regular route (Blue Bird rear engine from '04 but I was NEVER in the back of the bus. I hate being in the back. All the gossipy conversation, combined with the fighting and no-nos that can happen in the back 3-4 rows, doesn't want me there. I built loads of friendships with the drivers - and still do.)
I never had a lot of issues on the buses - everyone enjoyed me, the drivers and fellow spec ed students!
I'll probably talk more about what buses I had later.

Haven't taken a bus since maybe middle school, and I had a terrible incident with a Spanish bus driver in the first grade, who got fired shortly afterword.

I absolutely LOATHE the school bus. In the last couple of months, it got a little better for me, but overall I HATE it.
People scream, cuss, throw tampons, get in fights, SCREAM, sit in the isle, sit 4 to a seat in some cases, SCREAM, reject my request to sit with them, yell things across the bus, which is part of the category of SCREAM!
I HATE IT. For several years, I did not have any friends to save me a seat, so I'd take a long time to find somebody who'd let me sit with them every day.
Finally, a kid started saving me a seat, and that is the only thing that makes my bus experience a little better. Now, I don't have to sit with only half of my butt on a seat. All of the other problems still do not hesitate to exist.

Oh goodness. Serena, I'm very sorry about what's going on in your bus! I think what you need to do is LET THE DRIVER KNOW. Tell him or her enough is enough and there needs to be consequences for these kids that fight and scream and throw *tampons* in the bus! In the school district I am in right now, discipline begins with a stern warning, then a referral (to be signed by parent), and then after that you are kicked off for 2 days and progressively gets worse. Those kids need to be kicked off for a couple of weeks!
I suppose your bus has a stupid "age-appropriate seating" rule which means you have to sit in a designated area of the bus (older in the back, younger in the front). I ALWAYS sit right near the driver in row 1 or 2. I don't need to be in the back because that's where all the bad stuff happens at. And my drivers really enjoy me! I actually feel safer right near the driver than in the very back of the bus.
I would also let the school know this is happening. Discipline doesn't happen just on the bus, but in school. Fighting on the bus might lead to a short-term school suspension or worse, who knows.

In elementary school, I was usually one of the last stops on the morning route, so nearly every seat was full (I rode the big bus and did so until my sophomore year of high school). It was a pain in the neck to find someone to sit with, and more than once I had to sit with a first or second-grader despite being in the 5th grade at the time :? .

Middle school: Everyone on the bus was just plain awful. They were loud and disrespectful to the driver and each other. Easily the worst three years I've ever had to ride the bus.

High school wasn't bad. Everyone was usually plugged in or texting away in the morning, so that was peaceful, but the afternoon ride was middle school all over again  .

I'm out of high school and (reluctantly) in college, so I'm definitely glad that phase of my life is over.
