Yeah Sedaka, I think when most people say "liberal arts school" they imply no grad school. For instance, Columbia U is all about the liberal arts (you can only major in one of the liberal arts as an undergrad), but it is not a "liberal arts school" per se because it has a gianormous grad school. The US News Top Liberal Arts Schools lists only colleges, so yeah that's where the confusion lies (although obviously you figured that out on your own)
