When I first got to college, I majored in Sociology. The reason I chose sociology is because I had took some sociology courses as electives in high school and I found it more interesting because it felt more "relevant" than other classes at the time. It was talking about how culture and social groups effect us and things like poverty, social class, race, gender, all the stuff that effects me personally rather than some dead white man from a few centuries ago who didn't give a damn about me. I took mostly sociology classes in the beginning, but when I got into the heavier stuff, I started to lose interest and realized that other than becoming a sociology researcher, there wasn't much in sociology, so I decided to change over to political science, because I always had a interest in politics since I was thirteen, and maybe I could become an intern and a politician or maybe an activist for social justice someday.
As of late in the last year or so, I kind of really grown to hate politics and politicians, in the US anyway. The entire system is broken and beyond repair, and it seems that the type of people we need most in positions of governance are prevented from entering, while the it seems the worst type of people one can think of are the ones in power, and its all a circus anyway, with clowns like Sharon Angle, Jim Boehner, Bobby Jindal, its disgusting. I mean, I can't read a single political article in the news without my blood pressure rising through the roof, it makes me depressed and angry to see what is happening to this great nation. I listen to Rage Against the Machine to calm myself down. Now, I want nothing to do with politics and don't know what I'm gonna do with my life. Although, I always had a knack for humor, maybe I might be a comedian.
