My graduation ceremony is tomorrow, but have decided NOT to go, as I would have to getting the train to cambridge (anglia ruskin) really early and be there 2 hours before the ceremony just to register and get the robes etc... and also no-one from my family would come with me.

did anyone else go or not go to theirs.

I went to both of mine, high school and college, though I would have preferred not to. They held no interest for me, I went for my mother's sake.

I went to my high school and college graduation, mainly for the sake of my family. When I completed my Master's Degree, I didn't bother going. I'd had enough of that. As long as I got the degree, I didn't feel like bothering with the ceremony. I don't think the graduation ceremony itself is really that big a deal. As long as you successfully completed your course of study, that's all that really matters in the long run.

I went to all three of mine (secondary school, undergraduate and professional degrees).

I have an affinity for ritual and history, and academic ceremonies incorporate much of this. For my part graduation, convocation (undergrad) and encaenia (second degree) were all worthwhile events.

Did attend secondary (high school) because I was forced by parents.

Did not attend undergrad, master's, and not registering for doctoral events. No intention of being near crowds when I can avoid them. The ceremony holds no meaning for me.
