I'm about to become a part of that world myself. Yup, I'm pretty nervous. >.>

What are/were your college roommates like? Any advice?

Mine were either drunken whores that couldn't stand to not have my attention, or fat slobs that smelled like donuts and kept the TV on all day and all night. As such, I mostly lived on campus, as in, in the library, in the common rooms, or in the Honors College. Nowadays, I have a single studio apartment type dorm, which is pretty nice, but pretty expensive.

I got a randomly assigned roommate my freshman year. It was a Kuwaiti guy who just generally creeped out everyone on the floor, but we mostly stayed out of each others' way so it wasn't too bad.

As of right now, I don't have a roomie for next year- the guy I was going to room with transferred to a different school. However, I'm in a suite and the other room has two of my best friends.

Im getting a roomate..shes moving in either tonight or tomorrow. I havent had one for a while since my landlady couldnt find a renter for the other room, but I guess one was found..so now I am gonna have a roomate. I hope she doesnt end up hating me cuz of some of my quirks and personality as a result of me having aspergers.

We are unique. But if these roomies can't accept our uniqueness, they would not accept others' too. Pity them...

I never had a roommate before. I lived with my mom in a rented apartment.

I have a good roomate story...my first year of college, I got assigned a roomate that ended up being a really good friend. She was from India and had never been outside of that country, so she didn't really understand a lot about American culture. And since I don't, either, we were a great match and able to help each other.

I was lucky to have a roommate with the exact same interests as me and we got along real great. He was pretty much a more annoying skinnier version of myself haha. This was when i lived in a dorm.

My last roommates have stolen my Wii and games and money from me but i caught them.

I been in a single room in my first three years at Mason. I have suitemates these last two years and I had no problem with any of them. We all have a single (4 individual dorm rooms) room.

I can tell you that from what I've learned, Student Services will deliberately try to put people together who are DIFFERENT from each other to promote "understanding" and "tolerance" of people who are different.

It is not at all uncommon for a lot of roommate changes to happen within the first 60 days of your freshman year. People meet others on campus, and when they find someone they get along well with, they quickly work to move into the same dorm room.

My first roommate was a nice guy, but we butted heads over most anything. The guy who was my next roommate through the rest of college I met when I went about looking for a hammer. We became best friends and we stay in touch even to this day.
