I did a couple of retakes, the business one worked, the geography one really didn't, I went down marks cos I just DO NOT get the investigation paper no matter how easy my teacher told me it was or how much revision I did
That's interesting, I also did a paper called "Geographical Investigations" for it, and we all spent £250 on trips to help us with it, but I thought I did really badly in the paper. One of our teachers said that the paper was a doddle, although I didn't think so (I probably found it the hardest out of the class). The other paper we did, "Global Challenges" was much better. I'm thinking I'm probably going to get 40/70 for it, which to me isn't great. It said on the paper "Refer to fieldwork techniques whenever possible" but I thought, "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MENTION FIELDWORK TECHNIQUES IF THEY DON'T ANSWER THE BLOODY QUESTION?!"
I guess Geography just isn't my kind of subject; I'm much more into maths and the sciences. Our Geography course was also crap (it's the new Edexcel course) which put me off of doing it at A2 (there's an A2 Geography paper where you do one question, but it's worth 70 marks!
) But because I'm not doing the whole A-level Geography, I won't be too bothered if I get a crap grade (although a good one would be nice, of course
)
At least there's someone with a similar view; do you prefer the kinds of geography papers where you learn the content and use it in the paper (rather than to talk about fieldwork techniques)?
