E-mailing with my teacher
(Sorry if you find linguistic failings, or something, in this post. )
I can't communicate with my teacher in another way than sending her e-mails.
It was my teacher's idea. It's a brilliant solution! In the beginning, I was insecure about mailing her, but I'm glad I chose to do it.
I didn't know that she was so understanding. We sent mails to each other this evening, and she wrote:
Hi Lina!
I decide that you can stay home... this time! We would love it if you wanted and dared to join excursions in school.
May we decide that you are going with us next time? Think about it, Lina.
On Monday 22th March it's skiing at the slope. We decide that you're going with us. OK?
My teacher knows very well that I always choose to be excused from activities and excursions.
She knows that I am frightened of these situations. I was totally scared of her mail, thus I wrote a little text to her about how it feels to me. About the anxiety that exists when I have to opt in that sort of things, and more.
I got this answer:
Hi Lina!
OF COURSE you don't have to go to the ski slope!! !! I was trying to encourage you to go. I would never ever force you to be a part of situations that make you feel bad. You have to trust in that!! ! I really hope you can back up that mail, and ignore what I have written. I want us to agree on things where you feel good - but at the same time that make you challenging yourself - but never things that arouses anxiety in you. Can we take new grips and agree on good things instead, Lina?!
She's a nice teacher. She always helps me when I need it.
She can't reach me if she doesn't write what she wants to say. I just stare at her and say "I don't know" over and over again regardless it's a simple question. People think I'm vacuous, but she is aware that I'm not. She uses to ask me if she'd rather write it down in a mail. I answer "yes", and she smiles.

You are very lucky to have a teacher who is so understanding!
You should think about going on a class excursion sometime - you might have fun or make a friend. I usually don't want to go on trips like that, either, but I have enjoyed one once in a while. Give it some thought, you'll know when you are ready (it will feel 'right', even if you are a little anxious). Good luck!
