I'm new...... Couldn't figure out how to intro myself, and I've never really been a part of the aspie community before.

I need some advice. I've recently had a string of completely random people honking/screaming/making noises, to startle me. They obviously think it's funny. I'm annoyed by it, and the last time was so loud my ears hurt for ten minutes after. It may be the same people, it may not be.

I'm not going to be a prisoner in my own house because some jackass gets off on this. Anything I can do.

edit: I know it's students from my college doing it.
We're not on the wrong planet, neurotypicals are just @^%@.

Welcome to WrongPlanet. Where are they making these sounds? Are they doing it while driving by your house or do they come up to you and do it in your face?

I hope you get this resolved as I had people do that to me when I was in elementary school. But you do need to try not to react. they're only doing it for the reaction. If there isn't one, they'll get bored and treat you normally.

I am not sure if this is practical, but to help you with not reacting as Alex says, maybe getting ear plugs would help, and wear them at times when you think they might do it. If it is so loud it makes your ears hurt for 10 mins, ear plugs really sounds like a good idea to me. Preferably ones that are non-obvious so they cannot see you wearing them.

I might try earplugs. This happens when I'm walking down the street or in my car. My college campus is very conformist and I already feel alienated as it is, this doesn't help.

Two more weeks, two more weeks.

Sorry to be all doom-and- gloom, here, but 4 years, they didn't get a reaction from me, throughout those 4 years and beyond, they still continue.
