So yesterday I wrote my last exam. At first, I somehow misread the room number (long story) and I ended up being around 5 minutes late to an exam. However, it wasn't until I finally sat down that I noticed that I was in the wrong room since the last names were M-Z but my last name started with a C. So, I wrote the correct exam paper, its just that I was in the wrong room and the people know that I wrote in that room since you had to fill out a sheet telling them your name and ID number.

I didn't bother telling the people that I was in the wrong room since I was already late in the first place and I already started writing my exam.

Will anything bad happen, like they take marks off or I get a zero???

I very much doubt that you would get a zero, or even have marks taken off for a mistake like that. If you just email the prof or TA (if you have one) and let them know what happened, I'm sure they will be able to match up your name and student ID number with you paper. At my university when something like this happens...if the professor can match up the student and the exam paper the student gets credit. However, you should email your prof (or TA) ASAP and let them know what happened! Good luck.=)

+1

They usually divide people up like that to make it easier to organize when grading. It shouldn't be a big deal.
