Yes after 5 years of whining OMG no college etc. I'm finally returning tomorrow. I'm so scared and nervous!! !! ! I feel like a drug addict!! !! If you pick up that beer/drug you KNOW you will become violent (for example) Well for me If I get back "INTO" INTO!! INTO! College AKA SPECIAL INTEREST! COLLEGE! I will focus 1,000% on it and this behavior is frowned upon. I know why I did it in the past (AS and such which I've learned of in the last 5 years Thanks WP) but still this SUPER FOCUS on college behavior is as I said frowned upon. (Sure I'll make time for my hobby of gaming and DVR shows) but most of my thought/time will IMO probably be school work. I'm SUPER OBSESSIVE! With Psychology mom said it was all I thought/talked about (hint why they DON'T want me doing Psychology) besides the whole job aspect issue. I'm scared to get back into college in this obsessive way but I feel I can't help it. It's part of WHO I AM! Any ideas/tips? To relieve my fears? Thanks!

Are you a full-time or part-time student?

We never get into trouble for being different. We only get into trouble when we *act* too differently.

Go do what you love to do, but do it just a bit more softly.

Part time. 3 courses 9 credits. Health (Online) Statistic M/W History 1877 T/Thurs. I'm fearful of the obsessiveness mainly. I'll see how it goes. It's depressing you are scared to be yourself. :-(

That's about the right amount of classes to take if your are just getting into college, or returning back so that stress doesn't overwhelm people.
I've heard of too many students of taking 5 or more classes, and becoming overwhelmed by it all. As for the stressing out to be yourself, I never had that problem too much. The only thing I've diffuculty in is meeting new people.

I'm one week into my semester and what I can say is get organized--write down when stuff is due from the syllabus you get. And it will get less stressful if you can get into a routine. Hopefully with 9 hours, this won't be too difficult. I was in 18 but dropped it back to 14 once I realized that one of my classes has me observing in a high school (I'm an Education major). Oh and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Tutors and disability resource people are there to help you. And most of all, have fun!

Is that History since 1877 or to 1877?

Do you have to write a paper in your History class? Some Freshman level classes don't require one. Mine did--wrote it on the myth that America was founded on "religious freedom". Pretty interesting stuff...of course, I'm a History Education major (it's called Social Studies here, but for all intents and purposes it's history).
