I go to college: Monday-Thursday

My midterm was on Monday and I went to class. However, today Wednesday I just skipped class.

I don't know what has come over me, I just did. I am not sure how to feel about it, excited and happy or guilty.

Has anyone ever skipped class?

Will this be a regular thing for me?

First of all, don't worry about it. Everyone has skipped class once or more in their lives, and the Earth is still spinning.

However, try to keep going to class. It would be a shame to end up in a negative spiral and flunking. It's possible to skip class and still make it through your exams if you study hard enough. It would require you to be able to put yourself to it, tough. But class is a valuable thing, you are getting all the knowledge handed to you on a silver platter. So go if you can, it will help.

I can't skip class or I get into a pattern of rationalizing not going more and more often. So for me, I learned the hard way it isn't good for me to do so even if others can with no consequence

Skipping class once is not a terrible thing. Nobody is going to Hunt You Down And Make You Sorry.

That said, if it becomes a habit that's a very bad thing. The first time I went to college I got into that habit and flunked out.

So go to class, but don't spend time making yourself miserable and beating yourself up about something that's already happened.

I skipped my morning class just today. The excuse I used for not going was that my legs were sore from a workout I did a couple days ago, and it hurt to walk on them - which was true, but I was also sleepy and just didn't feel like going to class.

I did go to my afternoon classes today, though.

I've skipped some class in the past, did well at my exams (and still do well apparently) and it did not became a habit.

Yes, I felt guilty, which is why I usually tried to work during this time, but I can assure you that you are not going to fail or keep skipping class if you do not wish to skip them.

I've skipped class a few times before, but it's a bad thing to make into a habit. Most professors won't make you fail the class just for skipping once or twice in the term, but if you don't go, then it'll most likely be more difficult to learn the material, which can cause problems for exams and such.

I do skip classes but not regularly. I only do so when I am either ill or have something really important to do (meetings for internships or a huuge project for another class, etc). Don't worry about it. So long as you don't make a habit of it, it'll be okay. :)

I haven't skipped a class on purpose (for college), I have a good excuse if I miss those because I'm paying for that and have to keep up my grades for the scholarships.

Is it bad to skip? Economically, if you're paying the majority by yourself, I'd say yeah. If you calculate how much it is a credit hour and divide by the class periods, then you're paying for the time you're not there. But I don't think it's terrible, things will go on, you will still learn what you need to know and as long as you participate as often as you can, even those teachers who say attendance is mandatory will probably be gracious - especially if you talk to them. I missed about three classes of a history class twice because I was ill and once because I had an appointment that couldn't be scheduled at another time. I spoke to her about it and I'd participated enough that I didn't lose any points from attendance.

Like everyone else has said, it isn't terrible. But don't make a habit out of it.
