I'm starting to realise there's more to life then school!

I'm doing a co-op this semester, which is like I have a part time job (without pay) during school hours in a place that I probably wouldn't be able to get into normally. My co-op is at a library at a local University, and while the co-op itself is a bit boring right now (But it should get better soon when I can do more filing!), the fact that I'm taking the bus to and from the co-op is something that is thrilling to me as I've never been able to do so before. I have been very anxious in the past, especially with buses and anything really with independance, but this has shown me that being independant isn't too bad. There's a life out there besides high school, there's all these people going to different places and they're in charge of where they go. I've never had that control in my life before, as I've always had to ask my mom for a ride to wherever I need to go.
I'm not ready yet to go anywhere else besides my route to and from my co-op, but it's only been the second day! I'm hoping by the end of it, I'll take a visit to some of the local hotspots in my town before I go home :)
Have you had any experiences that made you realise that school/home isn't the only two places in the world?

Life is nothing but a small scale hell.

^ Pessimistic much?

I've been struggling a bit, the bus rides are starting to become really overwhelming to me, and the one that takes over an hour long to get home is KILLER because it's always full of children. Not that I don't love children, but the noise combined with the bus and the touching and everything is making me go insane!

My co-op itself is pretty good so far, a lot of boring tasks, but they're getting more interesting as I show more initiative and do well in my tasks.

I avoid going on the bus when I know loads of school kids will be on it. Sometimes it can't be helped though. If you're bothered by the noise why not listen to music while you're on it. Wow an hour long journey no wonder it's a killer.
Good luck with it.

Oh no, only one bus I take is not very crowded, the hour one and another 12 minute one is VERY crowded.
Music is a good idea, but I'm scared of my MP3 being stolen at school (which I attend in the morning), it's happened before there :(

You can get a cheap crappy mp3 player that you wouldn't mind getting stolen or broken. It might not hold much, but you could put several albums worth on even the tiniest one, and just switch out what songs are on it every few days.
