i fail @ school
Anyone else have trouble switching classes throughout the day?
I can get totally absorbed in one topic for hours, but going to various classes in the same day, for about an hour each, is impossible for me. I can never get deep enough into the subject matter this way, and my mind is always getting stuck on some particular interesting problem and I don't want to move on. I skip classes a lot because of this, and study and do my work at home where I can focus on one thing for as long as I want. I love school, but I often get bad grades because it's so stressful to simply attend classes. I've never told my profs about this because I think they'd tell me to just "get it together already"...
I know how you feel, sometimes it's hard for me to make my brain switch from one subject to the next, particularly if the first one is something I really like. Or as you said when there is an interesting problem. I used to skip classes a lot too, though I've finally managed to stop doing that as much this year. I'd give it a go explaining things to your Proffs, you never know they might have more understanding than you'd expect. In my experience it's better to try telling them than to assume they'd just dismiss it.
Otherwise maybe you could try writing out the problem you were interested in or something so you could come back to that at home instead of skipping the next class. That's worked for me sometimes. Have you tried using stress relievers? Maybe if you had something to fiddle with while you were making the change from class to class you could settle into the next thing more easily.
I don't know how much that helps really.
