Does anyone else think that there must be more to life?
More than 9 til 5?
More than get up, eat cereal, sit and do stuff, eat sandwich, sit and do stuff, go home, eat beans, go on FB, and sleep?

I just can't see the point.
Why don't I just completely kick the trend and do something different - do whatever I want with my life, a chef, a fireman, an astronaut, a hero? Why don't you? Why doesn't everyone? What stops us? :?:

I think this is one of those deceptively simple questions that everyone should ask themselves.

It's easy to come up with answers. It costs money, I don't have the right sort of friends, employers won't hire people with problem X. The problem is that often these are valid responses. But that doesn't change the fact that if you want something, but you do nothing, you will certainly not attain that goal. You can work hard and still not attain your goals. You can struggle over and over and become demoralized, eventually sinking into passivity. I know. I've done it.

It's important to remember, however, that I have to pick myself up and keep trying because once this life is done, there ain't no more. At least if you try, you'll have had some interesting experiences in the process.

There can be more, but that requires effort. While you're dream life might be rewarding, getting there is almost always difficult and often unpleasant.

You may want to look into some general advice for goal-setting. Just set some small goals to get in the habit of doing self-motivated work, and then you can get started on something really special.

Success is living the life we want to live and being pleased with ourselves and not being worried about letting others down.

To live our dreams perhaps we should start smaller just so we can say we can make our dreams happen. Then, work towards accomplishing our bigger goals. I accomplished by biggest goal so far which was to write a book, so I know it is possible. Sometimes, things can be tough. They were for me, but I refused to give up. No matter what.

I feel the same, which is a large part of the reason why I'm making myself rich - so I can do whatever the hell I want.

How are you going about making yourself richer? Are you rich now, or are you working towards that goal?

I have small business which are making me money. One day, one of my ventures will be so successful that I'll be able to get rich from it.

Tell me more about some of these businesses that you run. I am rather curious.

One I co-own with some people from college, it sells MP3 players and phone accessories. The others, which I solely own myself, are websites which attract revenue through ads.

The one selling stuff is doing the best thus far.
