i don't care. my skills are simply not being incorporated in the public school system, the required classes make up over 33% of a 4 year's worth of course credits - and they are worthless! Furthermore, the majors are doodoo. No one can get hired with degrees like art history or woman studies. the majors that aren't pure crap do not garner a student any experience in that field whatsoever. If i were to join on as an apprentice, i could learn more in a month than they learn in 4 years.

Whereas liberal arts teaches experience, soicial skills, teamwork, diversity, and you will focus on more than one subject rather than one major. Employers will be hiring based on these standars, not a degree.

apprentiship is what I would advise you....

I am a crappy college student...and I believe if you want to get ahead an apprentiship would be the best way looking back at what I should have done (age 21)

Your post confuses me, are you pro-college or anti-college for yourself? Liberal arts colleges are still "college". A liberal arts degree is worth about as much as one in women's studies or art history when it comes to employment.

The large state university I attended was divided into the College of Natural Sciences and the College of Liberal Arts, and students whose majors fell into the latter category got a similar education to those attending a private liberal arts school.

If I recall your previous post correctly, you are seeking education for its own sake (a noble goal) so you might benefit from a school with a Great Books curriculum in which you read the original texts of Western literature. It's a thorough grounding in the history of thought and will give you the breadth and depth of understanding you might be seeking. Here's the Wikipedia article which lists some of the colleges that offer it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Books
