Well, I'm a neuroscientist, so neuroscience was my favorite. But I didn't get to study that until college. For high school courses, it was anatomy/physiology. So, I voted "other science course." I've been in love with anatomy/physiology since I was a toddler.

It was a close call between english and history, but I went with english. I like how english incorporates elements of both literature and history. For example, it's fun to learn about the historical and social backdrops behind each piece of literature, as well as the author's interpretation of the times they were living in.

English for me. It's always been my favorite subject. I love to write and not just blogs or journals or on forums and whatever but I also write my own stories. None of them have gotten passed being fully complete but I have ADHD to blame for that... XD

Anyway, yeah. English.

English was always the subject I was the most passionate about. In particular, I was always encouraged in the field of creative writing by my teachers and family.

Unfortunately, I've not had the confidence to write a scrap for years. :P

In high school, I despised English because it was all grammar and sentence diagramming. I still don’t know an adverb from a gerund. I use English passably only because I had the good fortune to be born to, and raised by, people with an exceptional command of the language.

However, I love college literature for the reasons stated in the post above. I thoroughly enjoy writing literary analysis, but it’s never technical. It always relates to the work’s historical or sociological significance.

I've selected other, since my favorite subject had changed with my age and what I've studied at the time. When I was five, I studied a phonics course which went into the Latin and Greek roots, suffixes, and prefixes of English words and for a while that was my favorite subject. Another side fixation when I was a kid, was lasers (not quite an academic subject but at the time I had memorized the wavelengths of light which each chemical laser produced as well as their uses in industry and science at the time). And dinosaurs also were a similar fixation to lasers, even prior to Jurassic Park. Between childhood and highschool age, my fixation became electronics. In high school level grades, my academic subject fixation was initially Euclidean geometry, especially after I figured out how to do the two column proofs and it became fun to me. Next I studied chemistry and that has actually stayed a primary interest for about the longest time. To a somewhat lesser degree, after studying physics, physics became a fixation. However, at the same time my stepdad required me to start work and leave home so I didn't have so much time to study anymore, especially after finding work in fast food, order picking, retail, and every other temporal vacuum....

History or social studies or whatever they felt like calling it that week. Almost always interesting. Science class was variable. If the topic was astronomy or botany, I loved it. If the topic was geology, biology, or chemistry, I hated it. And of course, every class sucks the moment the teacher says, "Alright, split into groups!"

Physics. I absolutely hate English. I can't tell you enough just how much I don't care about literature.

Despite my love of literature, English classes were a chore. For the most part, literary criticism is the art of analyzing a work of fiction way too much, actively searching for evidence to back up your claim that some kind of subtext exists that clearly doesn't. Anyone who's seen the South Park episode "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs" will know exactly how I feel about this.
