I hate bragging because it makes me feel like a jerk but at the same time I don't want to not be proud of what I can accomplish (double negative wahhh!) so I thought I'd just tell y'all (somewhat) anonymously rather than rudely gloating in front of someone at school or my facebook friends. Also, I've been feeling down lately because I'm feeling a lot of pressure in the lab and also I am feeling quite discouraged by my physics class. I've been feeling insignificant and inept by comparison to some of my classmates and I don't want to get all down on myself by only paying attention to the things that I am not good at.
I want to be proud of the things that I deserve to be proud of. Anyway, I'm earnestly satisfied and I worked pretty darn hard for the grade and level of understanding that I've earned and I just, well, I wanted to brag because I could use the boost. ... Enough rationalizing! Here goes:

I got a 102.5 on my last cell bio exam! Vesicle trafficking is officially my b***h. WOOOOOOO!

...
Also, sorry for the profanity - not usually my thing, but in this case I'm just so excited that it seemed appropriate.

:D

good for you! I understand what you mean. I don't like bragging either, but it's still okay to feel proud of your accomplishments. I know people who compulsively brag about the most trivial things and I find it nauseating. That's different than actually accomplishing something meaningful and being proud of that achievement. When I get into med school, you can be sure I'll let the whole world know.

We should make this an accomplishment thread!

Congrats on your getting 102 on your bio thing!! !
If you don't mind me sharing news of my own, I get to choose my grade in Precalculus this semester!! !
As long as turn everything in, (and I pass a insanely hard trig quiz which after taking 7 times, I passed!! !!) I get to choose what grade I want in that class because I am senior.
Yea us for being awesome at school!! ! Woot! Woot!
Oh, and don't be afraid to post it on fb, just shorten it and don't swear and people may comment on it and stuff!

Getting into medschool is an epic accomplishment - best of luck, rabidmonkey!

Congrats in PreCal, chrissy! (:

I love this idea. Let's do it!

In this thread, everyone can post/brag/be effusively excited about any academically related accomplishment - large or small. Don't bottle up your pride for fear of seeming hubristic here - be proud of what you've earned or are working towards earning!

cool, how about an accomplishment sticky? There are alot of people expressing their frustrations and irrational self-loathing. Balance is healthy people.

I made a 112% on my last precalc midterm, and I was really sick with nausea the day I was taking that test :P

My acquired social skills got me into an honors organic chem class as a nonmajor! That class is only reserved for chemistry and biochem majors, but I pulled strings and schmoozed the right people. Yay!

That physics test I was so worried about?
... I got a 97 on the test - 3rd highest grade in the class. My average is currently a high A. Holy cow. I'm in shock.

Well, if everyone's bragging, I got 99% on a multivariable calculus midterm that I took while having a full blown panic attack xD

100% (60/60) on the end of year Biology test. :D . The whole school knows since the girl on the next computer told everyone, which I kinda hate because of the random compliments I have no idea how to respond to.

I'm happy enough with my two A's for Zoology/Microbiology and Botany/Biochemistry :)

Oh good lord. Just found out I received an A for the semester in Physics II: E&M.
As in a 4.0 A.
As in PHYSICS, that subject that I've never received anything over a C in before.
As in the engineering/physics major physics - taught by the difficult teacher that tests over relativity for fun and and gives a cumulative final exam over all of maxwell's laws - that I took just to challenge myself since I figured that if I was going to get a C in a class, I might as well learn something in the process.

I thought a B- was too much to hope for. Oh my god... The apocalypse is nigh...

I thought I was in shock before... What the devil is even happening? I think Rod Sterling is gonna come out soon...

Congratulations. The last course I took, I completed to tipple distinction, knowing it all before even signing up. After that I quit education seeing it as a massive waste of time :p
