Whats your gpa in college? Mine is a 3.23 =) with 21 credits

So far, mine's a 2.9.

3.5 overall, but my science GPA is 4.0. Hopefully the med schools I apply to will look more at my science GPA.

3.2 GPA with something like 120 credits

Currently have 81 credit hours and a GPA of around 3.8.

133hours 3.8 ...of course I graduated 2 and a half years ago. lol

3.34 GPA and I have taken 76 out of required 180 units. I want to get it above a 3.50 GPA though, but I don't know if it's realistic.

I heard this was a good GPA for an engineering major.

Undergrad: 3.31 with 196 credits required for my major (the highest of any major at OSU).
Grad: 3.64 with 45 credits for my Masters.

Both Chemical Engineering

That it is, a 3.0 or above in any engineering or science major is considered far more impressive than a 4.0 most other majors (I apologize in advance for any flame war this may cause.)

3.375 GPA with 162 credits, one year remaining. (The usual at my school is circa 120 credits to graduate, as at most places, but my academic path is... unique)

I would say that, even in the sciences, some GPAs are worth more than others. There are ways of padding one's GPA, and I have friends who have greatly endeavored to do so. I've been quite lazy about my grades, so my GPA has always been rather mediocre.

True, and I could name examples in different engineering fields, too, but I didn't feel like inciting any arguments any further than I may already have.



Same, it wouldn't have been hard to obtain a 4.0, but I am admittedly a bit lazy and easily distracted by other endeavors (thankfully I never started playing WoW or I'd still be working on my undergrad degree).

So far mine is 8.7 or something, but we use a different system so that translates into 3/4 of my grades being A+, 1/4 A and one A- which hangs like a lead weight of shame around my neck.. Mind you I had to take a horticulture paper as a prerequisite for entomology (I don't know why) which has set me up to get a B (or worse) so I expect that my GPA will drop, and yea, I'm pissed. I wanted my transcripts to be spotless, ugh.

Well, if all else fails, I'll quit science and cruise my way to a perfect score in an easy subject

This definitely isn't biased . The fact of the matter is that your gpa in college doesn't really matter very much- look at the profiles of both Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein. Are you surprised to see their grade point averages? The only thing that matters is that you have the ability and the desire to learn while you are in school. Once you obtain this, you can use this ability to think. Focusing only on getting a high letter grade is not thinking.

To answer this thread I have around a 3.4 cumulative gpa with around 150 credit hours(I have finished my bachelor's degree). I plan to enter a MS degree in AI/HCI.

Undergrad was 3.4 [Biochemical Engineering]... still working on post grad... 1st sem of my post grad I had a 3.8 [Neuroscience]

my "official" gpa was 3.9, but if you count the forensics class that i took pass/fail it is actually a bit lower than that.

About 3.8 with around 60 credits in. Biochem and math double major. My school doesn't believe in A+.
I do really well in the classes I enjoy. The ones I'm apathetic about, eh. I get what I get. It all works out.

Still haven't done most of my non math/science core classes. It might go down a little after those. :\ Do not want. D:

Your grades are fantastic--why quit something (especially if it is something you like) over one B?? If all you could get was Bs and Cs, understandable that you might consider it. But one B amongst many As is nothing to be so down about that you just quit....
