I have a scholarship that pays about 60% (tuition, fees, books). I'm always looking for more, but the community service resume often trips me up...

I give money, and used to be relatively active in homeless charities, but these days my main community service is keeping myself out of the homeless shelter... and apparently that doesn't count.

If I had a full scholarship I could afford to drop a day of work and volunteer somewhere...

I've received a Book Scholarship for the 2011-2012 school year, which will award me $800. Aside from that, I'm receiving financial assistance in the form of grants.

Yea, there is a 4 year, full-ride scholarship to a tiny state school, but I didn't take it because I wanted to get out of this state and go to a big school. My parents are a little bit mad about it :? but at least they are supporting it :D

(Oh, and my years was the last year it was offered, al you had to do was get a 3.5 or better cumulative unweighted G.PA., take 2 weighted classes, take 2 foreign language classes, take one extra math class, and graduate on time....really easy).

Another thing, I got a tiny one, I think for $3500 and it was to the same small state school. :x
But I have none to the school I am going to.

Full tuition scholarship from my university, and a handle of other small scholarships.

Have they changed their program recently? I was National Merit, and the organization itself offered essentially no money (just one-time awards which were mere formalities against the cost of college, I think $1500 or so). Several universities offered me scholarships on the basis of being a National Merit Scholar. Is that what your son received?

I go to a private scholarship (more expensive) so the scholarship is larger. It's about $80k.

Yes, the College actually offered the scholarship based on his National Merit Finalist status.
