Hi all!

Because the school didn't provide me with enough financial aid (FAFSA) to cover housing and food, I'm going to try to take a private loan. However, I'm not very experienced with this and my parents both have bad credit. As you might know, it is very hard to get approved without a co-signer.

Do you have any advice or recommendations?

I was hoping bank loans would do the job but I keep getting disapproved everywhere I apply.

I still have a little bit saved up and I also plan on getting an on-campus job to help cover rent and food so I'll be okay for now. It's just that I'm a little worried I won't have enough come November or December.

I'd advise you don't do it.

If you think student loans are whack when it comes to repayment issues, private lenders got the laws changed to allow all kinds of horrific things. :(

Start looking for scholarships online now. Avoid getting a loan if you can...having loan debt serously sucks.

Maybe you can wait a year? Get a job and save up?
