Drop out two years in, work at two different food establishments for a month each, burn out on working, live at home without working for five and a half years, make a successful attempt at completing a summer program at another university, make unsuccessful attempts at completing various classes at a third university, try to return to original university and have a breakdown, decide university isn't right for me, get diagnosed with AS, get disability application process started.

I think five and a half more years at my moms place is likely to make things so much worse...I think my only option is that whole disabilty thing at least at this point....but knowing my luck I won't get approved for that.

I think you will get approved, but know that they reject everyone the first time around because they're trying to weed out people. You have to appeal it then.

If you have documentation of mental illness from several sources that would be good. The more, the better. So it would be good if before you leave the university you got assessed by the student health center and disability office (both I'm thinking).

Oh to clarify I was just answering your question literally with what I did, I am definitely not recommending staying at home for five years like I did, it definitely did make things worse. If I could do it over I would have been assessed for Asperger's as soon as I left college and applied for disability then.
