Im considering joining a club in college.

Do they help or hurt you?

Do you have any advice or experiences when joining or being involved in clubs?

I think clubs are a great way to meet people and have fun, if you're interested in the subject of the club. I like sports, so I joined the recreational softball club and I'm having a great time. We only play games on Sundays so it doesn't interfere with my schedule and it's a good way to get exercise too.

I'm joining the psychology club. I've never been in a club before so I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm doing it not only because psychology is my major and to meet other people with the same interest, but also to help me with my social skills.

I joined an art club during high school but it didn't last very long because only me and a few others showed up each week.

Clubs are great ways to socialize and have fun in something you like. The problem is whether you will be able to keep yourself interested and going after your interest soon lies goes somewhere else.

Theatre has been an undying interest of mine since I was very young, so I'm getting involved with a few theatre groups this year.

I need to practise meeting new people and making small talk, so this should help.

I'm also thinking of joining the improv team to work on my ability to make conversation quicker.
