Has anybody been a student at Scenic View Academy? If so, what was it like? Did you enjoy it or find it helpful?

I was a student/resident there for about 6 months starting in May 2007. While my overall experience there was positive it wasen't the best thing for me or what I needed in my life. What I needed was some kind of substance abuse rehab center. I don't have any diagnosed disability other than ADD. What moving in there did for me was to make me internalize the idea that I had a non exsistent "disability" The way my situation was handeled was reprehensible. I think the staff for the most part care about the students there but my situation wasen't handled correctly and ultimatly has done more damage than good to me. I shouldn't have been allowed to go there if they intdended to just throw me out at the first instance of conflict with what I was dealing with. The thing that I find most upsetting was the way I was treated by employees and staff after I was forced to move out. Im not saying all of them treated me this way but there were experiences. I will say I really enjoyed the pshycotherapist that I worked with when I lived there and never experienced anything negative or judgmental from him. Another thing that really bothered was after I moved out I retured with a friend that still lived there to retrieve something from his appartment and had the police called on me.
As if I were some kind of criminal. So my overall impression of Scenic View is that it isn't a bad place but it wasen't right for me. I will say my experience there has led me to seriously consider becoming a Pshycotherapist myself largely because of the positive experiences I had with Ryan Miller.
