Hi, everyone --

I'm a twenty-year-old college student clinically diagnosed with Asperger's living in a triple. Anyway, I'm feeling really down because I'm having a lot of trouble with my roommate right now. While she was talking to a guest (our other roommate is out of town), fairly loudly, I might add, and I interjected with what I thought was an appropriate response, she snapped at me, "Abby, I'm talking to Ashley!" I haven't told her about my disability, because I don't know if she would understand. Later, when she re-entered the room and brought another guest that I didn't know, she introduced her to Ashley, while completely ignoring me. I hate having people mad at me, but I know that it's at least partially my fault. Does anyone have any advice?

Though I don't know the exact situation this occurred in, a mature individual would likely not have responded in such a manner as your roommate did to an interjection, and I think you probably have more of a right to be angry with her than she does with you.

I would focus on your school work, and giving your company and friendship to more mature and accepting individuals.

Ooh, yes I have great stories about having roomates from &%^^** when I was in college and now it seems comical, but not at the time. I lived with two females and often they would borrow shoes or clothes without asking. I could go on, but won't. Overall college was pretty good though once I got past living with roommates from %$$%.
