I was just sitting here watching this and I can't help but feel cheated by educational and (inter)governmental institutions.

I mean, they were set up to teach children on humanity's latest knowledge. They force children to be taught, so presumably if they get it wrong the childhood is just wasted. I could have learnt so much more on my own if only I could use the time I was forced to waste.

But, no. I had no idea that X-ray diffusion is used in crystallography until now. I just had to be in classes with teachers who instead of teaching English just did what the majority wanted them to do (nothing, or talk about martial arts), and instead of teaching Italian they just told jokes all the time (not even in that language). Instead of physics, biology, or chemistry we had 'Mass' in the curriculum (least I could do is be as intransigent as hell). Instead of standard secondary-level computer science we get the utterly stupid 'ECDL'. So... I assume, if I didn't pursue my interests in the little time I had available, I'd feel even more desolate than I do now...

Thusly, on behalf of all the potential you've likely forced to be wasted throughout history, F**K YOU EDUCATION SYSTEMS!! ! HOW I GODDAMN HATE YOU!! ! DIE IN A FIRE!! !

This reminds me in elementary school I got in trouble for wanting to read a science textbook instead of go to a play and ended up in the principal's office.

I was on the same situation as you except I did not end up in the principal's office, but the teacher's office and it was math rather than science. I still don't understand why though.

I flunked out of college due to not being able to stay on topic and pay attention. I hate being the "special" kid.

I have vague memories of this happening in elementary school. Since the time I was in middle school though I have been succeeding academically. Also I believe you are talking about ADD not AS.
