What are your thoughts?
personally I don't like it, probably because of the way my school goes about it. But what do you guys feel about it?
If you want more in depth reasoning for why I don't like it you can read it on my blog here:

I really do just want to hear your thoughts, I don't want to just rant

I read your blog post, and I agree with you. I think we need to teach acceptance rather than trying to find ways to fix us. I try to do that with my psych classes.

I read your blog post too, techman. I guess we can all need to teach everybody acceptance and that most autistic people are human beings with human feelings. And we certainly have empathy for ourselves and others around us.

I agree with this. I joined an Autism Speaks group at my university a few months ago. We do a lot of volunteering and raising money for Autism but we don't stress enough about understanding it. We even raised over $5000 on a walk for Autism this past weekend. I got on the executive board for the group next year and will suggest to add more about acceptance and understanding Autism to the group's agenda. The group is also in its first year at my college, so it still should be very easy to add new ideas to. Maybe I will suggest some videos about understanding autism at the first meeting next year or something. My cousin's boyfriend actually made a very good video about understanding autism. He was diagnosed 3 months ago and was already famous on tumblr for making videos about depression. He also has the videos on youtube.
