Did you or have you taken Art GCSE?

I have taken art as one of my GCSE options and i wanted to know who else had.
I don't have a theme though because I can't stick to anything so I decided that i would do all my work then choose a theme. But I still haven't got one and i am coming to the end of my first year. What did everyone choose for their theme and did you choose it at the start or the same as me?
Just curious.

I did art GCSE. Are you allowed to pick any theme you want?

I did my work on graffiti and street art, but my teacher changed it to pop art. She was rubbish. Do you have any of your work with you? I could help you pick a theme if you scan it in/take a photo and PM me a link if you like.

What exam board is this? We didn't get to choose a theme ourselves. Our first theme was "Joins", our second is "Vessels" and we haven't done the third yet.

I took art for a GCSE option too. But I didn't do very well at it.

The crazy thing was, I failed one of my practice art exams because of being too creative. I decorated about 12 paper plates with different colour fish with different backgrounds, and a week later the teacher said he had to fail me because my work didn't relate to any artists.

But I also took GCSE music, and that was the opposite. You had to compose a song that was original and was not from any musician, but I could only play songs that I knew.

I couldn't win with GCSEs! I am SO glad I have left school!

Yeah GCSE music I took too, and got a G. I think that art would have had me in tears, but they thought that I looked more exquisite compared to the statue on my art teachers desk..

Yeah, I did GCSE Art in a Welsh school some 10 years ago now... I picked it as an option as there were few alternative's. I can honestly say it was a mistake. A had a theme for animals, but I didn't have a focal point to work from at all, Plus I can't draw and my um... "art" is restricted to graphic design. I failed Art with an F, but what I excelled at was Technology Graphics at the time gaining a B.
