I may be accepting a DSA I'm not meant to.

I think this is the right place to post this, if it isn't, I hope there's a way it can be moved to the relevant section.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome around when I was 8. However, I've considered this may be a misdiagnosis. I'm not sure if it is, but I should probably get this checked out again soon. I know the symptoms vary from person to person, but I don't seem to have any problems socialising. The "No socialising" thing may just be a stereotype. I don't know.

The point is, if it is a misdiagnosis, I'm taking money that doesn't belong to me. As much as some people may consider that to be a good thing for their own personal benefit. If I don't have a mental condition, why should I take what someone else deserves?

I have received several benefits for having AS. Namely I have extra time in exams and a Disabled Student Allowance. (DSA)

I'm still in the first year of the degree. How would I go about checking I still fit the diagnosis?

Just thought I'd check up on this topic only to be disappointed by one reply that doesn't even answer my questions.

My main questions were asking how would I go about checking I still fit the diagnosis, and how would I pay money back for the DSA.

Anything but the General Autism Discussion form is quite slow in replies on WP, just relax. If you're still in school or college, talk to your disability centre/coach/councillor they'll be able to talk to you about your diagnosis, if it fits or not and in case it still applies, pay back the DSA money. Before you do however, think about yourself, how you interact with people and look at the criteria for AS. People with Autism are disabled, but can still change, mature and get better at socializing.
