Ive scored 52-58% on 2 pieces of work which were excellent but which did not satisfy the requirements of the brief.

The first one I became engrossed in drawing up complex operations serialisations plans and schemes for a piano composition. I forgot to create a playable piece of music which functioned.... as a creative piece of music

Second composition I did essentially the same thing. I simply got carried away with structural intricacies and just excluded so much else.

I have been through alot this year so my attendance was almost zero.I didnt even make it into tutorials so I didnt get feedback

I only need 1 more first (70%) this year and i'll be able to get a first overall, but still I just feel so very very sad about the whole thing.

Any similar experiences. Misery does love compny after all XD

If you only need one 70%, then just go for it!

grades don't mean anything, as long as you tried your best and are proud of your effort that's all that matters

I used to get a little sad over grades, but I stopped caring about grades a while ago. Like Vomelche said, grades don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Grades are just meaningless numbers/letters that have no relevance to your life. Additionally, bad grades aren't even your fault sometimes; maybe you got a bad grade because the teacher was a dick, lost an important assignment, plays favorites with students, etc. Don't stress over grades. The next time that you get a bad grade, just think "whatever", and don't let it affect your life too much. Heck, just laugh at that bad grade, and say "lol, I got a 58 on that assignment".

You said you would get a First if you get 70 percent. What do you need to get a 2:1?
